While most people have Sundays off, I work. I am blessed in this economy to have a good job, as I am a nurse. I knew when I went back to school at age 42 I would always have some kind of work if I choose a career that was recession proof.
I work in a prison which I know may sound scary but I have gotten use to it and actually enjoy working there. You just can't make up the things I have seen and that people do or try to get away with. I am fortunate to work with some great co-workers (Officers). Almost every Sunday we do a "breakfast" whether it is breakfast burritos or Nachos we eat well. I am the baker in the group and I have tried many new recipes out on my co workers. I am here to say that I always get rave reviews. Today was Chocolate Fudge with Peanut Butter, I found the recipe from "Skinny Girl" thought maybe my co workers needed something less fattening. Sorry I didn't take any pictures of it but the recipe was so easy I was done before I knew it.
2 cups Pumpkin
1 box Betty Crocker fudge brownie mix
2 tbs Low fat peanut butter
Mix the pumpkin with the brownie mix, pour in a 9x9x2 pan, I put the peanut butter in a sandwich bag and cut the tip off to squeeze the peanut butter out. Then take a fork and swirl around the peanut butter on the top of the fudge bake at 350 for 35 mins. Let cool, cover and refrigerate for a least 2 hours before cutting into squares.
Another big hit with my officers, they enjoy being my test dummies. Like I said I work with some great guys and they are always there for me so I am always there for them. I love my job!

Last night of vacation
First thing this morning found out that my Auntie Nancy passed away. She always seemed like a free spirit to me. She seemed to always have a sugary sweet outlook on life and people. What stands out the most to me is she always thought I was pretty and would hold my head in her hands and say the words. My cousin Maryann was there with her when she passed. My heart breaks for her right now, to see your Mom pass. I remember seeing my Mom for the last time and I miss her so. So many things I wish I could just sit down and talk to her. I am hoping to have dreams of her tonight as I need to feel her close.
Wishing I had a few more days of vacation but it's back to work tomorrow thinking of the women that have passed through my life. Hold on to the family and friend you have around you, you never know when it is time to say "good bye". And always tell them they are "pretty".

Pier 39 SF
Today I went to Pier 39 in San Francisco, being that I was born in SF I have visited often. I love to people watch and well, let's face it there are some "people" to watch. On this trip took a bus ride to Haight and Ashbury street for the first time. OK the destination was interesting enough but the bus ride was where I really saw "people". People really expressed themselves I always wonder if they are "people" watching too!!! Maybe I stood out, as everyone is tucked in tonight I wish that everyone takes in the views of the day and just know we are all different and are free to express it.

My Life
My life may not seem interesting to many people but I am starting this for the fun of it and we will see how it goes. My husband and I live in a town close to where I grew up. I have two wonderful children that are living their own adventures I am so grateful that I can be a part of their lives. My daughter Melissa is living in the south of France even though I miss her terribly I know she is living a dream. My son is finding his way and he has a wonderful girlfriend by his side and I knowit is what he needs.
